Titled “Macau’s New Eviction Proceedings Reform: Key Changes and Legal Implications”, the article discusses Law No. 19/2024, which will reform eviction proceedings in Macau, effective March 1, 2025.
Key changes include requiring a minimum of three months’ rent arrears for eviction requests, simplified procedures, and expedited enforcement without additional judicial approval.
Calvin suggests that these reforms will significantly improve the eviction process, providing greater legal certainty for landlords and tenants while reducing financial risks associated with prolonged disputes.
